AEW Expected To Add Another Title Match To Full Gear Card

Publish date: 2024-09-29

AEW Full Gear 2023 is happening this Saturday night at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, California. That being said, there is still a chance that fans will see more added to the card.

There are currently nine matches planned for AEW Full Gear, including one on the pre-show, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that two more matches may be added. These additional matches are expected to involve Wheeler Yuta challenging HOOK for the FTW Championship and some sort of Lucha Libre style match.

The matches already announced for AEW Full Gear 2023 include MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Jay White, Hikaru Shida defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against “Timeless” Toni Storm, and “Hangman” Adam Page facing Swerve Strickland in a Texas Death match.

There’s also a six-man tag team bout with Adam Copeland, Sting, and Darby Allin taking on Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne. Kris Statlander will defend the AEW TBS Championship against Skye Blue and Julia Hart in a three-way bout, while Jon Moxley challenges Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship.

In addition, The Golden Jets will face The Young Bucks, with the stipulation that if The Golden Jets win, they become the number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, but they must disband their team if they lose. Finally, Ricky Starks and Big Bill will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR, Kings of the Black Thorne, and La Facción Ingobernable.

The Full Gear pre-show features MJF defending the ROH World Tag Team Championship with an as-yet-unannounced partner against The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn). Also, AEW CEO Tony Khan will reveal the promotion’s latest major signing at the pay-per-view, describing the new recruit as “one of the world’s best wrestlers.”

Ringside News will have full coverage of AEW Full Gear, and everything else in the pro wrestling world. You can check out the updated card below.
